India

I've been spending the last week in India, and it has been insane...

I'm over here playing guitar with a worship team... So far we've played four times and it has been incredible every single time - there have been lots of people and I've met a bunch of cool people... Indians are really nice! They take good care of us over here... Anyways, here are some pictures, and the story later.

Gant

Winter is starting to hit pretty hard in Australia... The nights are absolutely freezing and it's hard to get warm... This video makes me long for a northern hemisphere summer - it's been a long time since my last one.

Gatsby

I finished reading "The Great Gatsby" not long ago... I love this book. It's going to become an annual read for me I think... I'm working my way through all of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novels right now, but so far this one has been my favorite.

It's sad to hear that they demolished the house that served (apparently) as some inspiration for this book... Watch the video about it here.

Remembering Ansel

My favorite landscape photographer: Ansel Adams

Take Ivy

This book came in the mail for me the other day. It was first published in the 60's in Japan by a Japanese sartorially minded photographer/author, and since then it has become a legendary reference of American prep style. Michael Bastian has some great stuff to say about it here. And some images:

Wonderful

There are some things worth getting excited about, and this is one of them. Check out the video below for a quick preview...

Birthday On The Rocks

It was my good friend's birthday last week, and a few of us headed downtown to celebrate. We went to a beautiful part of Sydney known as "The Rocks" where we were able to grab a table at a great little Italian place called "Zia Pina".. It's a nice restaurant, and it doesn't feel like you're in Sydney when you step inside.. The atmosphere feels like New York, I think..

After eating a bunch of different gourmet pizzas, we took a walk to the famous Sydney Opera house.. But first we stopped at the Guylian chocolate cafe. The hot chocolate there was alright, but I've had better.. Either way, the setting was wonderful..

walking to the opera house...

I love the architecture on this building.. It really never gets old to visit. It looks gorgeous every single time.

The bridge, not to be outdone by the Opera House, is constantly illuminated

As all nights do, this one concluded. We all said "good-bye" to the Opera house and walked back to our cars.. My girlfriend and I drove home sleepily, and all the passing lights of the M2 motorway seemed to be one long line of white and red lights.. My eye-lids like a camera shutter staying open gave the whole drive an over exposed photo sort of feeling. But the night was good.
