The Kooks

After listening to their latest album, Junk of the Heart for the last few days, I'd have to say that The Kooks have done it again. This is British pop-rock at its finest, taking notes from the patriarchs of the genre like The Beatles, The Kinks and the The Hollies. The Kooks (even their name seems to fit the genre) have released a fantastic, fun, appealing and catchy album... Which is a triumph for any band.

Holocene

Bon Iver just released his latest music video for the track "Holocene". I really like this one. Filmed in Iceland, it seems that the video captures a lot of the feeling of the song. It adds to the track rather than just act as a strange excuse for a director to make an over the top metaphoric, weird, artsy film that makes no sense to anyone (no matter what they say).

Two Things...

Second: A Video of Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) playing "I Can't Make You Love Me", a Bonnie Raitt cover and also the bonus track on his latest album.



Bon Iver has got to be my favourite solo artist over the last three years. Unbelievable music.

This stupid song has been stuck in my head forever, and I feel like I'm hearing it everywhere. And every time I hear it I find myself getting excited?... If anyone wants to make a parody of this video - dancing the same, in the same outfit - I will gladly watch it.
